Hannah Fender's Student Spotlight by Lauren Brady
Do you know anyone with the nicknames ‘Skootch’ or ‘Birdy’? Someone who can be described by the four words: “stubborn”, “friendly”, “brave”, and “daring”? A girl who is eleven years old? If you guessed Hannah Fender, you are correct!
Hannah Fender lives in Moscow, Idaho. She has five older siblings and three younger foster siblings, too! Hannah’s favorite food is probably salad, and her favorite song is ‘Wonderland’, by Taylor Swift. A favorite book of hers is ‘The Lunar Chronicles’ by Marissa Meyer, and one of her favorite movies is The Phantom of the Opera.
Hannah’s favorite subject in school is history, which is awesome because one day she would like to become a teacher at Williamsburg Academy! If she could visit any place in the entire world she would visit someplace in Peru or Tonga. One thing that Hannah is proud of is the time she saved one of her foster siblings from drowning! Hannah’s biggest role model is Mr. Reynolds, although she has many other role models, too.
Some things that Hannah likes to do in her spare time are biking, hiking, swimming, and running around outside while singing All I ask of You from The Phantom of the Opera at the top of her lungs. Hannah favorite motto/quote is, “Nobody is perfect, so get over the fear of being, or doing everything perfectly. Besides, perfect is boring.” -Jillian Mitchells. If Hannah could give one tip to all the other Williamsburg students, she would tell them: “Don’t be afraid of pushing yourself past your comfort zone. It never works. In the end, you always overcome your fears.”
